You are a different girl........

So Taegyn is growing up so fast and learning all about the world and saying the funniest things....for example....mom I don't want to pee like girls anymore, I want to pee like daddy now.....and today I had my hair in a basic bun.....about an hour later I had put this hair scruchy in that looks like real hair around my bun, it was all curly and I added some earrings....and Tae looked at me and said you are a different girl now....;) So I see small accessories do matter then....he tells me things are wierd, he says no thank you when he does not want something...he loves it when we lay by him when he goes to bed and he makes sure Taren stays in line...he lets me know if he is mad at me...the funny things just keep rolling in, it is great! One another note, Shad is starting school in January, he is going to start getting through his generals, he is going to do it while working, so is going to start with 2 classes, I am so excited for him. He killed a buffalo and we are now waiting to pick up the meat...our portion should last us a year or so. ;) I am still in the field and moving into the heart of winter when it snows all the time...not my favorite, but I will make it through. We had a wonderful thanksgiving, Shad had to work so spent the day with Matt's family so I am glad he had someone to spend quality time with while we stayed with my parents and had a wonderful day and then family reunion on my moms side! it was great! I got Tae a new bed, it is a bunk bed that should last the boys a long time. ;) I am working during christmas....so MY official christmas this year is the 28th of December, and we will be hanging out in St. George for it. That is life for now...

My favorite

So this is one of my favorite pictures of Taegyn when he was around 18 months....and now Taren is in the same costume.....so different yet similar!! I have had so much fun with these two cuties!! Last night we went trunk-or-treating with Cami and her boys, and they had a blast playing some games and going around the parking lot getting candy, I swear that for every 2 or 3 pieces that went into their bags...they ate one, came home pretty wired...we also ate chili that was soo good, but my body did not like it, so after we left my belly started hurting....we took the boys around the neighborhood and by the time I got home I told Shad he would have to put the boys to bed....I felt nausous....and sure enough spent the rest of the night throwing up and feeling like crap, today I feel better...but it sure does suck to throw up! I think it was the chili...but then I fed my boys that chili too and they were fine...so who know what it was....Anyway an update on our lives....

So I have gone back into the field for 8 days on and 6 days off, the economy has finally caught up with Second Nature Entrada and they just didn't have the room for my mentoring job, at first I was sad, and thought the field would be hard, but so far it has been great, I mean, we spend less on daycare and when the boys are not with me they are with Shad, the one I see the less right now is Shad and we are finding creative ways to stay connected and close. I am hoping to start grad school next year and be able to work at least part time at second nature entrada...

Shad has gone hunting twice now, he went to Wyoming for an elk tag, did not get one but had a great time with Uncle Jim and Kang, and will most likely go again next year, probley later so that the animals will have moved down and they have a better chance.....the second time Shad went hunting, he had a spike elk tag, a young male, he got one, however failed to have his tag or his hunting license with him, and he didn't have the head to prove it was a young male....he got pulled over by the game warden and because of all those things they took his meat....it ended up better than it could have gone, the game warden said he could get ticketed for poaching....which is a felony....in the end they gave him a no tag ticket and I think a failure to prove the sex of the animal (even though they did DNA testing and found out it was a young male), Shad figures out what that is going to cost Monday...but anything is better than getting in trouble for poaching.....so hopefully he learned how to be a better hunter. He has one more hunt this year this month for a cow elk, we'll see if he get one...if not we are either going to get a buffalo from this guy Shad knows....(of course split it with some people because its going to cost around $1200) and or buy a half a cow from Redmond farm where they raise grass fed beef...so either way we will fill up our freezer....I was sad for Shad to have worked so hard to have the meat taken away.....oh well, next time he will have everything he neeeds....

The boys are growing up fast, Tae is getting taller...I am not sure how as he is a very picky eater...and Taren is really coming out with his personality. Tae will walk up to me and tell me I am his best friend, it is so cute and Taren is saying more words and starting to really understand everything I say to him. They have constant little colds right now I just wish they would get over....Tae still loves spiderman and batman, and recently loves to watch Yo Gabba Gabba, and Wonder pets....Life is good for us what can I say, we are excited about the holidays and (except for snow in the field).....

Mommy your my best friend

So that is what my big man is saying these days.....he will come up to me, hug me, kiss me and tell me we are best friends....he asks for hugs and kisses when he is sad and always lets me kiss away the ouchies!! He loves for me to tell him stories and even after I read him just one more, he asks for just one more again....he loves batman and spiderman and can sing the transformers song and really has take to doing puzzles.....he is growing up fast and I am savoring this time, because I know he won't always ask for hugs and kisses like he does now.....;)

Here is a Halloween preview.....Lion's and Tigers and Bears oh my!!! (Shad is a bear, we all know it....he's just not in the picture....;))

Time never stops moving......Tae turns 3

Well the 4th of July has come and gone, we had a great time with Shad's sister and mom, we swam, watched movies and ate good food....:) and now its already August and Taegyn has turned 3! I can't believe at times how fast my life is going by, and how quickly my babies are growing up....We had a big party for Taegyn for his 3rd birthday, it was a lamb roast, Shad picked up the live lamb and then dressed it down, slow cooked it all day long and we ate it by 8pm sunday night....we had a lot of people from work come and other friends and family it was great! Roberto and Matt were celebrated as well, we made it the party for the Leos! and we ate a lamb...very fitting, anyway I can't believe he's 3. He is so big and saying so much more and doing so much more...and he's his brothers protector its so cute! I will post more about it later and wanted to share these now....;)

Ok Seriously its been awhile......time for an update

So its almost been two months it feels like since an update....so much has happened!
First off....I did not get into grad school this fall, there were only 10 spots and lots of applicants for the distance program....so I have committed to doing whatever I need to, to get into school by next fall, at first I was REALLY sad...and it has turned into a blessing as most things do....I get the opportunity to work some more and get completely out of debt while taking the next year to bolster up my credentials for other grad school opportunities....so in the other news...we went to Wyoming for memorial day and had so much fun...we rode horses as much as possible and even did it in the rain....since then we have had lots of time with family...Spencer had his brithday and then Kp did as well, so we got to see a lot of everyone and when Shad went to Laconia for his motorcycle trip...the boys got to spend 4 days with Grandma K and Grandpa Pool while I went into the field...so its been a great June, it has been cooler than usual and I am so grateful for that, it really has just started getting really hot in the field...and that usually happens earlier...we are just going to keep it mellow for most of July...Taegyn is growing up so fast and says things like, I want to do it myself ok mommy...you understand? yeah where the heck did he learn that! and Taren is full on walking about 80% of the time now...and trying out more words and of course wants to be doing whatever Tae is doing....I am so grateful for my life, we really are so blessed. :) Enjoy the new pics....Shad got his deer hide back...and it was for Tae's room since it is one of his totems....and we usually keep it on the floor but one night he decided he wanted it to be his new blanky...and he sleeps with it almost every night now...I love that he loves it!

Jason Mraz.....and other fun things

Lots has happened! I went to California at the first of this month to watch Spencer graduate from film school! Go Spencer! Yeah for living personal legends...the boys got to go to the beach for the first time! :) and well, Shad and I went to a concert in Vegas....Jason Mraz was playing, I was originally going to go with Dem and that didn't work out, so Shad went with me...we left the kids with my dad, headed up early....(got to vegas at 10pm...) I mean early since the concert didn't start until midnight vegas time so 10 pm was early ha ha....people that is 1 am the time I am used to....anyway we got to vegas and watched a movie (X-Men Origins..Wolverine) and then proceeded to go to the show, James Morrison opened for Jason and then he took the stage and it was a great show, he has some GREAT songs...and Colby the one who sings lucky on his CD showed up and sang with him it was cool! I am glad we went and we liked the smaller seating and venue place, the Palms only holds 2600 people, so no matter where you sit you can see whats going on! And we had some pretty great seats. Anyhoo....Shad wanted to drive home, put a few energy drinks down and got us home about 6:20 am....I am so tired, I slept in till NOON!....and it was fun to go with Shad. I am sending my official transcripts to the U of U tomorrow, I got my Bachelors degree posted on my USU transcripts so I think that is the final piece to finding out if I got accepted to go to grad school this fall. So....if I don't hear in the next week or 2 I am going to make a few calls to find out :) I think either way I would get a letter....but now I am not so sure...anyway Taren is getting a mouth full of teeth and blossoming with personality, he is almost walking...and so much fun and an easy laugher, Tae likes playing with his buddies and is at such a fun age to do about almost anything...he also is pushing a lot as well....I guess thats 2 year olds. We are mosing along through the summer and hope to do some fun things this summer. We are remodeling the bathroom upstairs and the whole upstairs should be completely done in the next month, then on to plan the living room, kitchen and outside....those are really big projects...as always life is good...enjoy the pics...I was having fun with the camera! Oh and my dad is coming into the field with me for 5 days to an adolescent girls group...should be lots of fun...more later!

Taren Turns ONE!

So I have been a blog slacker lately! I have promised pics of Taren turning one and here they are! What a fun day. We had such a fun time with family! I gave Taren his own big peice of cake and he REALLY enjoyed it. He got a few toys and some cute new outfits from Grandma K and Grandpa Pool, and some bath toys from Grandma and Grandpa Sorensen. Taren is starting to say more words...small simple ones, he really is a quick learner, wants to be doing everything Taegyn does. I think he will be walking soon. Taegyn on the other hand....Geez this kid is exploding with personality! He is talking in full sentences, he tells me what he likes, doesn't like, won't hardly eat...will climb out of his crib, will tell me what he wants to watch on TV, or if he wants to play outside and what he wants to do outside....we fight aliens that enter the house....act like monkeys and dance dance dance when its party time, he wants the light on low before he goes to bed to keep the bad guys out and well I could go on and on and on....we love our boys and feel lucky to have been blessed with such amazing spirits! Still waiting on grad school info and working lots until then, we are in a good spot, life is great! Enjoy the pics, Tae also went on his first Easter egg hunt.....got LOTS of candy needless to say, it was fun!

Shads new Bike.....

Well the white knight Harley.....got a face lift and now is the the Dark night black Harley......all chromed out....Shad's DREAM bike has finally arrived....I am so excited for him and he gets to share it with this little cutie in the photos! They have a blast together on the moto....For Shad's birthday we decided to paint his bike like he has been wanting to since he got it...and boy does it look different! Life is great for us...busy busy busy as usual...I am waiting to hear back if I got accepted into grad school this fall, I am sure I will find out this month sometime...and in general just working chipping away at getting in a great financial place so that when we decide on baby number 3, its not stressful and I don't have to work....work has been great! I am really LOVING my job, I miss the babies when I am gone...however I do like working....I like doing something I enjoy during the week and then playing with my boys all weekend! Life is great and as usual we are so blessed. Dem has come to live with us for awhile before she leaves to Hawaii, and it has been great having her here, I had a huge blowup the other day when I got out of the field, and both Shad and Dem were like WHOA! And.....it was nice to be able to weather that with people I care about....I feel like I am doing a lot right now and I know I feel blessed, and....doing all I am doing can be overwhelming at times...one day I would like to slow down a little....one thing that Shad and I are so excited about is that we are both going to Peru now...in July! So I moved the date in May by myself to one in July so we both can go! And the babies will hang out with Grandma K and Grandpa Pool! It will be so much fun to go with him, I have started to donate plasma so that I can pay for my trip that way! Its not that bad...after having babies, IV's and Epidurals....it actually is pretty easy! That way we can focus all of our other money on saving, and getting out of debt, which is our main plan! The babies are growing so fast....next week is Taren's 1st birthday is next week! he is so big, trying to talk, almost walking....his personality is totally coming out and he has the cutest growl laugh! Taegyn is a blast to be around as well! He talks so much, when he goes to time out he asks for hugs and kisses, when he goes to bed he asks for hugs and kisses, and all the time he says I love you too mommy, he is saying things I have no idea where he learned them, he is growing up so fast! He can get out of his crib now and get back in, but he will stay in until I get him and then show me he can get out! They are the joy of our lives! Life is great! more later...
Ps - the other 2 pics are of me in the field, the one with all the smoke and my hand up is me blowing flames on a bow drill set, its called busting, I did it under 2 min and won the competition that week in the field, so much fun, and the other is just hanging in the field.....

Tae's new favorite....

So we have moved from Buzz Lightyear being the favorite to SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS! Yes you heard me....WHO LIVES IN A PINEAPPLE UNDER THE SEA.....SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS!.......He LOVES it, wants to watch it all the time, we record some just so we can turn it on if we need to because it is not on the tv....we changed his whole crib from Nemo to Sponge Bob, and since his wall is painted like an ocean, it will be easy to decorate the wall with sponge bob instead of Nemo, he has pulled off all the nemo wall stickers anyway....Good times, we got a huge sponge bob pillow hence the picture, and the other day he put his arms around it and said "I love him..." so dang cute! He is quite the talker...he pretty much understands everything I say to him...we have conversations and I am blown away by the words he knows and things he understands....I feel like it happened over night...He has decided for the most part to #2 on the potty, but won't keep his diapers dry....he still has some time before he is 3...I am hoping by 3 he figures it all out, I may have to let him run around in wet pants till he decides to do it all on the potty! anyway....enjoy the pics! :)

Well there you go....

So time flys...that is all there is to it...time freakin' flys! I can't believe I am halfway through March! Taren is almost 1! Things are going very well for our little family. I recently just finished up applying for Grad school at the U of U....and work is great...Shad is off on a fun trip with Matt visiting all kinds of Harley stores and...going to NBA games...he is in heaven...I am home having a very restful weekend, reading cool books and playing with the boys...They are growing up quick, recently Shad and I have decided Tae is ready for a bed...no more crib, when he gets back we are going to transform his crib into a bed....hopefully he stays in it! He is saying the cutest things these days...he will take off his diaper to go on the toilet and run around saying I am a naked boy! So funny! I love them both so much and feel so lucky to have them in our lives. On another note, I recently have had this huge pull to visit South America...namely Peru...I am working out the details of the trip in the next couple of weeks, but it definently is going to happen and I am so excited, there are a couple of people at work who have gone and I have been reading a cool book called the cosmic serpent. I have been wanting to create some alone time for awhile now, where I can just be ME....not a mom, wife, sister, daughter, full time worker, student...etc....just ME. I want to create my own solo experince, spend time in the Amazon jungle and create healing/balance/and detoxing...detoxing in every form...so as I began searching...I have found the neatest information, and had some really cool intuitive experiences in directing my search for getting to Peru. I would go at the end of May sometime, I will take that whole month off since Cami is having her baby and working won't really be an option, because she won't be able to watch the boys....maybe kp will come down and help Shad while i am gone...I am so excited....this truely has become a year of such growth and exploration all while raising these two fantastic boys....more later! I will try and blog more often now that we have the laptop....:) Here is a fun Picture of Shad when he went to the Christmas party this last year...

Turning 30 (and loving it!), graduate school, work, and just life in general!

Well well well my friends who read my blog.....The day came January 12 and I turned 30! I look back on the last 10 years from when I turned 20 and I sometimes can't believe how fast it went....and other times I think how did I fit all that in....in just 10 YEARS! Seriously people I am SO excited for the next 10 years of my life! Turning 30 for some can be tough....for me it was the most wonderful day! Well I really should just say week, because it was a birthday week!...I will give you a play by play...so Monday which happened to be the 12, the day I was born I was scheduled to go into the field to work...I wasn't sad because I knew I could go play on the weekend to officially celebrate my birthday, so I got a cake at Lin's, it was a carrot cake...won't get that one again...it was so sickenly sweet...one small piece gave me a stomach ache...we had enough cake for 2 days....I got out of the field and Shad surprised me with a dinner at the new Brazillian steakhouse here in town and it was so good, my favorite was the grilled pineapple. Then on Friday I spent the whole day with my boys...cause I missed them! Saturday Dem and I had plans to go visit Kp in Vegas! So we left Saturday morning and came back Sunday night....We had a BLAST! Dancing, playing games and just having a grand ol' time! A great week! I feel like over the last 10 years I have accomplished so much, I loved playing softball at UVSC (now UVU), I loved being a river guide in Moab, that opened my eyes to so much living in that cool little town and having a cool job like that for the summer! I was able to develop a love for the river which I still love to go and do each summer! (Yeah SKULL hole!) ok....so this draft has been sitting in limbo for awhile so I am going to fast forward a bit.....I found Second Nature after rafting in Moab and really have never looked back...I found Shad along the way and within the last ten years I have 2 amazing boys, have become a great mother and love my life, I am on the cusp of finishing my masters degree and becoming a therapist and I feel like the whole world is open to possibilities...I know there is another baby for sure in the mix somewhere here in the next 10 years...maybe 2 more, but one for sure and overall I am so excited for 30 and beyond! Shad just celebrated his 30th birthday on the 6th, and I surprised him with a little party at Matt's house, his sister was there for that and that was a nice touch....Shad has really began to reconnect with his family and I can tell he is so much happier because of it! He broke out with this viral rash infection, that is supposed to go away on its own....and is feels like he is ready to start working out and playing racquetball again and working on getting 100% on his knee. Tae can't say enough these days...he is talking whole sentences and letting me know when he does or does not like something. He really hates it when his hands are dirty...he has adjusted to me being gone for 4 days a week, and is so excited to see me when I get home, he says....Mommy I missed you and I love you, please give me huggies and kisses....how can I resist....:) Taren is growing like a weed and developing his own special personality, he loves to try and play with Tae, and gets frustrated when they leave him because he is too small...he has figured out stairs so the gates are back up until he figures out how to go down....well we ordered a new laptop, something simple so that we could use it downstairs more, Taren is still in the computer room, so when the boys are down for naps at the same time...there is no sneaking in an blogging when I have some downtime if they are asleep cause Taren will wake up if I walk in....so hopefully I can get to blogging more once that shows up! :) Here are some pictures to enjoy of life in 2009, we went swimming when Shantell and the girls visited...and us playing at the park...and Shad about Taegyn's age...thought that would be fun to share. :)My eyes are doing funny things in some of those photos...oh well.

Christmas 2008!

So we had a WONDERFUL christmas! My family came up to St. George and spent 2 weeks here it was so GREAT! I took off work for Christmas and I am so glad I did, the week before there was snow up to my knees while I was in the field, I could not believe it, it just kept dumping and dumping snow, so it was so nice to get out of the snow and have a lot of fun with my family. I am so grateful they all made an effort to meet in St. George to spend time together, after the traveling to Texas...yeah 40 hours total in the van with a 2 year old, I was ready to just stay put for awhile. SO Taegyn had a blast opening presents and then opening everyone else's presents, he had cute christmas PJ's and we fit movies, racquetball, dice game and made treats and ate really good food and had wonderful chats and catch up time, it was great to see Spencer for so long and the next week around New Years we had a lot of fun golfing. Overall it was so much fun, Shad had a hard time with working over Christmas and missed out on some of the fun, and next year he will have Christmas off! This next year should be a lot of fun and as I look over 2008 we got a lot accomplished, our house is moving along, we welcomed in Taren into our family and he is so much fun, he is cutting teeth right now so kinda grumpy! Tae is almost 2 1/2 right now and turning from a baby to a little boy, his new favorite toy and movie is Buzz lightyear! He will even say to infinity and beyond and run around the house shooting his lazer. We got him a toy and a costume to wear around the house, he never wants to take it off....I will have to get some pictures of him in it, the goal this year is to finish the bathroom and landing and stairs and build a new bigger shed, tear down the old one, get rid of stuff we aren't using so we aren't pack ratting it up, then making a garden this year and actually getting a yard and a fence so the kids can play in the back and Mony can run around, Shad has fallen deeply in love with her and she has become a part of our family. I am going to look for a graduate program that fits for me and apply and get ready to go to graduate school here in the next year or two, and study and take the GRE.....and Shad will think about getting his bachelor's. We both think if he is going to do it, now would be the time to start fitting that in.....and down the road a year or two we may add one more to our family! So that is us in a nutshell! We love our lives and feel so blessed continually to share it with such cool people! :)
