So I was tagged by my wonderful sister Kristy and I am going to write 5 things you didn't know about me.
If I tagged you here's what you do. Post the words in all caps below and fill in info about yourself. Then, at the end you tell who you are tagging & go and tag 5 friends on their blogs. It's just a way to get to know fun little things about people
TEN YEARS AGO......I was into my first year playing softball at UVSC, it was a blast, traveling with the team and meeting a new best friend Heidi, I had some crazy fun adventure with her. I also was living with Cami at the time, and that was of course super fun and adventurous....UVSC was really like 13th grade...I knew everyone..still lots of fun times there...I miss playing on a team like that...
FIVE PLACES I HAVE LIVED....Hmmm Texas, Mississippi, and then grew up in Provo, lived in MOAB as a river guide for awhile and that was super interesting....yeah some crazy stories there and now in St. George Utah, never thought I would end up here, but here we are....
FIVE THINGS ON MY TO DO LIST...... Organize our new finished computer room upstairs, organize all my stuff lying around by the computer, clean the bathrooms (I always put this one off forever...), burn some CD's for friends and catch up on some movies....
I ENJOY..... My sweet baby boy, we have such a fun time right now, I love finding things to do with Shad, even if it is watching a show together, any sports and outdoor stuff although that is on the shelf for a little bit right now with being hugely prego...hanging out with my family and friends, going to movies, reading a good book and making jewelry....and learning about energy and psychology...oh and making good cookies...
THREE BAD HABITS..... well I already said one, I am a slacker bathroom cleaner, I hate bathrooms and most of the time it is dirty because of Shad...I mean come on men get it in the toilet...:), sometimes I procrastinate my homework....and sometimes I stay up way too late doing mindless studpid stuff, I really should just get to bed...
FIVE THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT ME..... 1 - Love Love the show Lost, I have other shows I like but I love lost....2- I am a crazy shower singer at times...3- I used to have a big crush on Heath Ledger, and now it is James Franco...4- I like Jack Johnson music....5- I would love to get lost with my family for a year and backpack all over the place....that would be so fun!! And I would love to river guide again...on the futelefu (I know I probley spelled that wrong)
FIVE JOBS THAT I HAVE HAD..... Lets really say what didn't I do before I started working at 2nd Nature....I mean I was a janitor at BYU, Spenc and I had some fun times for sure there from 5am-9am...I did sales on phones, surveys, I worked for insurance companies, Spencer and I tried to be construction sign holders once, I was a river guide (one of my favorites) you name it I think I tried it...ok maybe that is total exageration, but I did a lot of jobs....
I tag BRI,DEM,CAMI,MOM(get a blog mom),EMILY(I know you are getting one soon)

A Couple of things.....
Ok so I am off to Hilldale today to visit the polygamists to get some raw milk....because the other farm is 2 1/2 hours away so it is a difference of a 1 1/2 hour trip or 4-5ish....but the milk in redmond (the far away place) is better because the cows are grass fed, and the cows in Hilldale are alfalfa and grain fed...yes people it makes a difference in the quality of milk. Anyway it is still a pain to get and I do it anyway because I have seen the wonderful health benefits my beautiful boy experiences....(you can ask me about them if your curious) I just wish that someone closer or in town would sell raw milk here because usually my mom just brings it up from provo once a month (from Real Foods Market...awesome store) but we still run out sometimes and I have to supplement with the Hilldale milk or get the organic pasturized, homoginized crap they have at the store, I know I know you all hear that and say we drink that crap....and the organic is better than regular milk in the store...but still it is crap, you kill everything good when you pasturize and homoginization is soooo bad for the milk....and re fortifying it with vitamins and minerals is like trying to take a multi vitamin instead of eating your vegetables...ok so off my milk soapbox, I just am saying I wish there was a store I could go buy it in like in provo instead of having to drive far away to get the goods.....Oh yeah we all drink it too (Shad and I) and we have seen a huge difference....I still can't get my family to drink it though....ideally I would have my own land to have my own cows (for grass fed beef and milk) and have my own fresh chicken eggs and a big beautiful garden where I grow all my own organic vegetables, then eating healthy would be a sinch and not a million dollars....ok I did say a couple of things so here is the other thing, my boy is growing up so fast...it is exciting and I am sad sometimes....before I know it he will be graduating from HS ready to leave on a mission (assuming he wants to go) and off into the big world....makes me crazy sometimes....He is such a fun age right now, he is just figuring out hide and go seek, we have a blast...oh and he LOVES treats, he asks for them all day and surely can weasle 2 or 3 out of me a day....yeah sometimes treats are chocolate and somtimes they are grapes....it is easy to give him lots of healthy treats though it is the other ones I worry about...have a created a sugar fiend....Anyway life is good! :)

Good grades and more.....
Ok, I just finished a take home exam, it is for a pretty hard class and I have to admit, I am pretty proud of myself, I am getting all A's currently. If all goes well this semester (which it is looking like it is....) I only have 2 classes in the summer to take and then I am done with my undergrad and walk away at the end of the summer with my bachelor's degree....take a small break and then on to my Masters....I am sooooo excited, I think to not mess with finals I am going to induce as early as possible, which means I could have this baby on the 9th of April (assuming my body is ok with that) I am so excited about my life right now, we got a new computer that I love, our room upstairs is almost done, Shad and I are doing wonderful, tonight we played with Taegyn chasing him around the room and hiding from him, he is already understanding how to play hide and seek, we had such fun....Oh I live such a blessed life....:)

Shad's Birthday
Well it was Shad's 29th Birthday on the 6th of Feb!!! It seems like birthdays for us just aren't as big of a deal anymore, but I tried to make it special for him, Cami made one of his favorite dinners, salsa chicken and Dem came over with the kids and we sang happy birthday to him! He hates regular cake so I got him an ice cream cake, one of the big presents to ourselves (since my birthday was in January) was to finish the upstairs and that he did! And it looks wonderful. Anyway we have a great life! Here are some pictures of his cake and his celebration day and then some cute ones of Taegyn...:)

Christmas 2007!
Well Christmas was so much fun this year! I mean Shad ended up in the emergency room, but hey, christmas was still a blast, let me explain. We ended up in Provo this year, I got out of the field on the 22nd and headed down, Shad had already been there for a few days with Taegyn, we had a blast watching movies, eating good food and of course lots of treats, well something we must have ate christmas eve day or the night before did us all in the Pool family in....and when we showed up at the Sorensen's to spend christmas eve and christmas morning....well shad started getting really sick, I knew from past experience that it was only a matter of time before he started really throwing up, we had all gotten some kind of food poisening, almost everyone in the Pool family threw up or felt yucky christmas eve night, but Shad got it the worst and sure enough ended up in the emergency room to get pumped full of anti diarreah, and anti nausea meds and to get some fluids in him...(this has happened 3 other times before...never on christmas eve.) Shawn his brother stayed with him, and eventually brought him back and Shad was groggy and tired and still a little sick Christmas morning, but eventually he rolled around and felt better, unfortunately by the time he felt really good, he had to go back to work. I only threw up twice gratefully and Taegyn only once, he had such a wonderful christmas! We all got fun stuff that we can use and needed, but Taegyn got so many wonderful new toys to play with, he definently got some cool stuff and is a super blessed kid, the Sorensen's and the Pool's took care of this little boy and he had a blast, the slide show above is some fun Christmas morning pictures of him in his Christmas PJ's. Over all it was such a fun and relaxing 2 weeks off! Next year will be even funner because then we can tell Taegyn all about Santa Clause.....:)

Sprinting to the finish...
So here we are at the close of another year....I have recently decided via inspired some good friends...(Bri and Dem) to recognize more of the things I am grateful for in this life instead of see what I don't have or still want. As this year closes, let me close with the things I am most grateful for this year. I am so grateful to have a wonderful husband who loves me and adores me, I know we both still have a lot to work on to get to perfect amazing marriage together, and I love that we are both willing to weather the storms together and enjoy the clear sky happy moments. I am grateful that Taegyn is a healthy happy boy, he brings so much joy to our life, he has been such an easy baby and loads of fun, he is officially walking and officially big, I am so grateful that I am not in a hospital wondering if my baby is going to be ok and live, or fighting a horrible disease or that anything other than a simple cold here or there has happened to Taegyn. I love him immensely and am grateful that I get to wake up and play, teach and love him each day, I am grateful that he can teach me to be more patient, kind, loving and grateful for him in my life. He is such a sweet little independant boy. I believe he is very special and will be a teacher to Shad and I our whole lives. I am grateful that I am able to get pregnant again easily and that we have another coming to share our lives together. There are times when I find myself getting uncomfortable or being frustrated with being pregnant, and I remind myself to have gratitude for the ability to be able to have babies and bounce back quickly. I am a lucky woman and so am daily waking up and choosing to be grateful that this new spirit is growing in my belly. I am grateful to my parents for helping me so much with school and life in general, they are trusted companions throughout my whole life, they have embraced Shad like one of their own and have shown so much love an gratitude towards him and that is something I am truely grateful for, that he can feel so much love and acceptance from them. I can never say thank you enough to all my parents have done and will continue to do for me. :) I am grateful that I have a wonderful best friend Demeree and that I can tell her anything and everything and she will listen without judgement, she is there for me when I have my lowest lows and celebrates with me my joys and highs in life, she truely is a sister to me and I know we will stay close throughout our lifetime. I am grateful despite her extreme struggles this year that she can be an example of forgiveness and letting go. I am grateful for opportunities to work and go to school. I am almost done, I have 6 more classes I need to take to get my bachelors, and then I will probley take a break. I should be done this next summer. I am grateful I have a flexible schedule where I get to work from home and when I go in the field I can pretty much decide when. I am grateful that we have a house, the goal is to get the upstairs computer room done for christmas...I used to get frustrated about living in an unfinished house, but now I realize I can be grateful for even having a house, and a big one for us at that, it keeps us warm and safe, I truely am grateful for our house and all the comfort it gives us. I am grateful for my brothers and sister, they have become my best friends and weather all kinds of storms with me, I could not make it through this life without them, well I guess I could, but it would never be as fun as it is now. I am grateful that I live in America and that I don't have to worry about someone taking my babies and making them do horrible things, I know those things are happening in America too, but I am grateful to live and St. George and to be protected and sheltered. I am grateful for the gospel, I am grateful I have something to rely on and help me have a strong foundation when life tempts and trys me. I have had a wonderful year, between school, work and family and friends I can say that 2007 has been a great time, it certainly has flown by so fast. I look forward to what the future holds for us and continue to wake up each day thinking of things I can be grateful for......:)The Sorensens

Taegyn is starting to walk.... :)
So our big boy is starting to walk, it is so cute, he takes like 4 or 5 steps on his own and then falls down and is sooo excited to try again, he will be walking on his own in no time. He is also acting more and more independant, wanting to feed himself and do things himself, no help from mommy. His laugh is my favorite sound these days. Another great thing just in case for those of you who don't know, we have another addition to the family on the way due April 16th! I think it is a girl, now I will have another baby to write about. So Taegyn got in his first fight today...ok well it was not really a fight, but he tried to take away a game boy from another little boy who is about 17 months and the boy bite his head, he had little teeth marks and everything....so sad, he didn't understand why that happened because he had never had that happen before. He ended up being just fine and the two of them went on playing together again and it was neat to watch him learn how to share and learn how to play nice. :) I love him so much, he brings so much joy in my life! My mom took him for two days and was able to confirm that he likes to climb and get into everything right now. The best has to be my dear husband...I was gone in the field working and Shad had him by himself for 2 days and when I got back Shad was ready to finish the house, he went on about how it is not baby proof and Taegyn gets into everything....pretty much everything I had been telling him the last 4 months, that is one of those times I am glad I leave and Shad has to be full-time daddy, then he REALLY understands instead of me just saying it. :)

The joy of cousins...:)
So this is another one of my favorite faces that Taegyn pulls, especially when Secoya tries to be big and hold him. All the time Secoya wants to hold him and he knows she is too small, (he is too heavy for her) and this is what ends up happening...I love it! :)

Taegyn's new favorite toy!
For his first birthday Taegyn got leap frog barn, you can put a horse, a sheep, a duck and a pig, you also can put the front and back of the animals and mix them up, the little frog on the top plays banjo songs, so every so often I hear..."she'll be coming around the mountain when she comes....." and "you made a match, look what you've done...you've made a match, hear a horse sound...." in a little kid melody, oh the little frog also plays "banjo on my knee" and "the farmer and the dale..." he plays and plays and plays, then pulls off all the magnents off the fridge, the end of my day always ends with putting the DVD's back on the shelf, putting his books back on the shelf, restocking the tuperware cupboard (it is just for him, since he can't break anything and he pulls everything out) and putting all the magnents back on the fridge...Oh what I life, I love that little guy....at least he doesn't have a popper...:)
This is him eating his yummy birthday cake, he threw up later....but I am sure it was worth it...:)

Taegyn;s birthing story.....
Well, here we go, Shad and I decided we wanted to start trying for a baby, he thought it could take 6 months or more....not me! I knew as soon as we started trying I would get pregnant. Sure enough we started "trying hard" in september and I got pregnant at the start of November, I thought I had gotten pregnant in october and I wanted to try a home birth so I found a midwife here in St. George, I found the one with the most experience in town because I didn't want people to worry. I started going every month for check ins and I was always measuring small, the pregnancy was wonderful, my skin was awesome, I was never sick, and on the whole I felt great. The only thing that bothered my was the sense of smell, it was off the wall, I could smell everything to the one millionth power. I could smell meat in a way I have never thought I could, it made me want to throw up. I could smell my husband if he didn't shower everyday...we laugh about this now but sometimes I would refuse to go to bed until he rinsed off!! The closer we got the the delivery day the more excited I got, my best friend and sister Demeree is a massage therapist and she helped me with sore muscles and relaxing. I was fine as far as being comfortable until my last trimester, man then it started to get annoying and uncomfortable, I had a hard time sleeping and trying to be comfortable sitting down, and it was HOT, I live in St. George Utah and I am telling you don't be pregnant your last trimester here, it was so miserable sometimes...I would walk outside and want to walk right back inside....especially in JULY, it is the worst month here and we still had not installed central air....we had a smamp cooler, and that means that it was still 85 to 90 degrees because in was 114 outside... yeah not fun! Anyway we realized we were off because my due date was June 26 and as that date closer we realized he was not going to come that day, I took a few stress tests and he always tested fine, my midwife started to get nervous and question herself about timing and after that I started to realize she was getting nervous and putting me into a high risk pregnancy bracket because she still felt like there was a chance I was just way over due...July came and went and at that point I wanted to scream, I was so tired of being pregnant, I just wanted him here, well tuesday night I had horrible contractions all night and the morning or August 2 on Wednesday I knew that he was going to come, (guess he wanted nothing to do with the month of July) we called the midwife at 6am and she came over, measured his heartbeat and flipped out, she said it was too low, after she put me on oxygen she said if it did not change we would have to go to the hospital, at this point I was furious, here I had gone my whole pregnancy waiting to have a home birth and working with Liz and now because she was uncomfortable and couldn't accept that we had just been off on the day, she didn't was to take what was to her a huge risk and deliver my baby, once I realized this Shad asked everyone to leave the room and we prayed, I always felt good about it and didn't feel like we needed to be scared, but I could feel the tension from everyone else, they just wanted me safe and in the hospital, I agreed to go to the hospital and at least get a stress test but that if everything was fine I was going to leave and have the baby at home, I did not want some random doctor delivering my baby, fortunatley as soon as we got there I realized Dr. Lunt was oncall that day, he had been there for my other stress tests, I really liked working with him and being very angry at Liz I finally decided to stay at the hospital, Liz offered to stay, but I didn't want her there. In the end it all worked out because my whole family pretty much came down and was able to be there for his birth. I got an epidural because I was just tired of feeling the contractions, and we relaxed and played cards. About 3pm I started feeling intense contractions and I asked for more medicine, they said I was at an 8 and that we were going to go for it, I had Taegyn at 3:31 pm and he was amazing, he was so relaxed, immediatly started nursing and so sweet, my life changed for the best that day and it was so amazing to see Shad have tears of joy in his eyes for his beautiful son we had brought into this world, he was protective and sweet and such a good daddy... needless to say it was a long 10 months but worth the wait.
